Thank You for Making Wetmore Through the Years a Success!
The Wetmore-Hardscrabble Genealogical and Historical Society hosted the opening of a special collection of historical photos celebrating our community and its families at the Wetmore Community Building on September 12, 2026. More than 50 people attended, taking time to view and learn about the photographs, reconnect with neighbors, catch up with friends, and enjoy a cool ice cream treat.
A special thank you goes to Jerry Draper, who curated this wonderful collection, and to our photo-hanging crew: Courtney and Nan Davenport, Ron Gifford, Jack and Carol Vayhinger, Margaret Storm, and Anne Hayward.
We also appreciate everyone who helped with setup and cleanup, as well as Vicki Reed and Polly Boggs, our hardworking ice cream scoopers.
A big thank you to Chris Daring for entertaining us with her vintage fiddle during an impromptu concert. And what a wonderful surprise to have two Spirits of the Past, Amanda Felch and Olive Egbers, join the celebration!
Thank you to KLZR Radio for helping spread the word about the event, and to Elliott, who represented the station at the gallery opening.
And, of course, our biggest thank you goes to everyone in our community who came out to celebrate with us.
Your interest and enthusiasm made the event special.
If you missed the gallery opening, you still have a chance to enjoy this wonderful collection. The historical photographs will remain on permanent display in the downstairs meeting room at the Wetmore Community Building.
We hope you’ll stop by, take a look, and perhaps discover a familiar face, family, or piece of Wetmore history!
